THERMAL-DEFORMATION MODEL OF A Sr-MODIFIED A356 ALUMINUM ALLOY

نویسندگان

چکیده

The hot-deformation behavior of A356 aluminum alloy with a Sr modification was investigated using Gleeble 1500 thermal simulator. true stress-strain curves deformation temperature 300–500 °C and strain rate 0.01–5 s–1 were clarified. activation energy the 221.474 kJ/mol. influences friction on investigated, then constitutive equation established. results show that flow stress is obviously affected by rate. experimental lower than theoretical stress, difference between increases increasing strain. maximum reaches 17.8 MPa when sample deformed at 300 °C/5 reduction 16 %. For all conditions correlation coefficient 0.99 average relative error 4.8 %, which shows good predictability current model. developed can provide guidance for study similar alloys.

Porosity Prediction in Aluminum A356 Alloy Castings

A comprehensive methodology that takes into account alloy solidification, shrinkage-driven interdendritic fluid flow, hydrogen precipitation, and porosity evolution has been developed for the prediction of microporosity fraction in aluminum A356 alloy castings. The mathematical models presented are implemented in a computational framework consistent with those of commercial casting codes, allow...

Dynamic and Thermal Properties of Aluminum Alloy A356/Silicon Carbide Hollow Particle Syntactic Foams

Aluminum alloy A356 matrix syntactic foams filled with SiC hollow particles (SiCHP) are studied in the present work. Two compositions of syntactic foams are studied for quasi-static and high strain rate compression. In addition, dynamic mechanical analysis is conducted to study the temperature dependent energy dissipation and damping capabilities of these materials. The thermal characterization...

Porosity Control and Fatigue Behavior in A356-T61 Aluminum Alloy

Much work has been done, in recent years, to characterize the factors that cause porosity in aluminum castings, and to analyze the impact of porosity or microstructural parameters on fatigue life. What has yet to be done is systematically separate out the effects of dendrite arm spacing and largest pore size from each other, and from the underlying chemical and process parameters that influence...

Effects of Warm Laser Peening on Thermal Stability and High Temperature Mechanical Properties of A356 Alloy

To study the effects of warm laser peening (WLP) on the thermal stability and mechanical properties of A356 alloy, the samples were treated by WLP using a Nd:YAG solid-state laser and temperature control device. The residual stress, micro-hardness and microstructures of samples treated by WLP were observed. The result shows that the temperature significantly affects the strengthening effect of ...
